Jodhpur Old City Walk: Many doors, smiles and one clock tower

Early morning in Jodhpur, the city is flushed with blueness, waiting for the sky to turn blue…

I leave my door.. and head to the bigger door which is locked at night to keep the city out…

That door is open now… and I can go be with the city

The streets are empty and the walls are quiet…

The temple is locked. Even Gods need security nowadays.

It says I should proudly say I am a Hindu… It makes me wonder, am I.

Someone just came out…

The garbage lady and the dogs are busy doing what they do…

I go further,
That's Sardar Market Gate

And that's the Old Clock Tower,

Interestingly in history, Clock towers have been built as landmarks and not for the purpose of watching time.
Though it says best about the Power of Time

Birds have assembled at this monumental clock tower to conference before they fly on their daily duties…
They seem more human suddenly…

Now, they are lighting the oven at Laxmi Hotel…

Halwai is warming the milk to make his famous Makhania Lassi and Rabdi

I ask him if he has Gajar ka Halwa and he gives me some..

I walk back with my treat, and I see these kids playing.

They are laughing and bonding, talking silly stuff and playing silly pranks.

The eldest one leaves, he is too grown up to pose silly for pictures…

The younger ones they laugh and celebrate.. just the simple act of being clicked..
I don't share my Gajar ka Halwa with them. I am greedy!
And no one takes food from strangers… So I don't want to offer...

They rush back home laughing and teasing, yes that corner behind the curtain, they just remembered what Mother has told them about not talking to strangers…

The neighbors watch me with amusement.. I am being noticed…
It's time to go back, the door calls me to hide again.

Nice pics...especially of the kids with all the innocence and trust on their faces. Don't get to see that in big cities and more.

It was indeed nice to see, how their play, pranks and laughter started at 8 in the morning. It's nice being kids
