Vintage-Shintage, Coca-Cola

Disclaimer: Before I start, let me state the disclaimer, this is neither an endorsement, nor I promote drinking of Cola drinks whichever brand.
But I do admire their marketing and advertisement skills. One has to admit, that in any part of the world where getting clean drinking water is a challenge, cola sells like no one's business. Moreover buying "Cola" is cheaper than the "Mineral Water". Their model of product, packaging and selling Water and Cola are unique - turning "a necessity into a luxury" and "a luxury into a necessity".
What do these Cola advertisements really represent – their catchy punch lines, the glamor, the whole aura of fun, bubbling fizz around it, the most famous faces of the era endorsing it – these are nothing but the glimpses of our vibrant society and the spirit of the times (though only the flamboyant side of it). Two they have had a major impact on the Art World, not by giving employment to various advertisement agencies or design artists. But by creating advertisements that become a reflection of the era and over time become a piece for vintage collection. They have transgressed generations, cultures, countries, festivities, languages to emphasize the spirit of celebration. Whether you are watching or won a sports event, or you are celebrating a festival, or just meeting your friends and family – a Cola kind of marks the getting together.
And when we talk about Colas – you have to agree that 'Coca Cola' - is the first thing on your mind. Wherever you go you find the background of Red with cursive style 'Coca Cola' beckoning you. You might be in the remotest parts of the world where no one knows an alphabet of English or is far from reading any language for that matter.. but you will find the 'Coca Cola' shining on the boards across shops or highways... that is the power of Branding...
Here are some Cola advertisements from all over the world…
